The library offers one-on-one (or two) training sessions called Learning Coaches. These sessions cover a specific topic of interest (such as setting up an email account, downloading an ebook, researching family history, or learning to use the create space equipment). This service is intended for patrons 9th grade and older at all skill levels who need to get more comfortable with specific activities before working on their own.
Sample topics we will coach:
If there is a topic you would like to learn that is not listed, please see Shawn Walsh, Emerging Services and Technologies Librarian, or call 440-428-2189.
Topics we will NOT coach:
Topics are limited by software the Library has access to and staff knowledge. We reserve the right to deny a coaching request based on these and other criteria.
For further information about Learning Coaches contact the library at 440-428-2189 or email info@madison-library.info.
Learning Coaching is a free service.
30 minutes to an hour.
Library staff with the knowledge or experience on a particular topic.
No, unless you want to use the Create Space. Then you need a library card and to have signed the equipment waiver.
An individual can have 2 learning coach sessions per month, but exceptions can be made on an individual and topical basis by a learning coach.
Please call and cancel at least 24 hours in advance. If you do not call and cancel, your session will be labeled as a “No Show.”
We do not remove viruses or repair devices. This is strictly for educational purposes only. If we determine the coach is no longer fulfilling its purpose as an educational exercise, we will end the session.
